Amaryllis (Hippeastrum) is a variety of amaryllis that impresses with its unusual, exotic flower shape, reminiscent of a tropical orchid or butterfly. Narrow, wavy petals are arranged asymmetrically, creating a dynamic composition. The main color is fiery red with copper-orange hues, complemented by greenish-yellow accents at the base of the petals. The thin petals, as if painted with a brush, give the flower a light “airiness.”

This is a decorative variety that is especially prized by collectors for its unusual appearance. It looks great as a solitary plant in a pot, is suitable for modern flower arrangements, and adds an exotic touch to the interior. It blooms during the cold season, creating a bright accent in the home. The bulb germinates easily under standard care conditions: sufficient heat, light, and moderate watering.

Guide and tips for planting amaryllis (Hippeastrum) bulbs

Choose a pot that is at least 4 cm wider than the bulb and has drainage holes in the bottom.
Fill the pot with well-draining soil, leaving about 2 cm of space at the top.
Place the bulb in the centre of the pot, with the pointed end facing up.
Cover the bulb with soil, leaving the top one-third of the bulb exposed.
Water once until the soil is evenly moist, then keep it only slightly moist until the first shoot appears.
Place the pot in a warm, bright location with indirect sunlight.
As the plant grows, support the stalk with a stake if needed.
