Belongs to the family Amaryllis, genus Hippeastrum, group - Large-flowered Hippeastrums (Galaxy Group). Of hybrid origin! Bred quite recently - in 2011. Producer: Kwekersvereniging Amaryl CV. This is a truly royal flower! A flower that will amaze you with its blooms and that will put you in a good mood. Its name translates to "Lagoon.

Appearance
This is a bulbous perennial with showy flowers. If you're looking for something special, check out this amaryllis. The seductive flowers on strong stems with bright colours are just what you need! They are coloured a deep pink that shimmers in good light, with a white subtle border and strokes. The throat of the flower is red in colour. The petals are broad, corrugated, oblong-oval with rounded ends. They are gathered in inflorescences, usually 3-4 flowers each. The flowers are slightly scented. The stamens are coral in colour and arranged horizontally. The size of the flower is astonishing, about 20 cm in diameter! The flower stalk is long, tubular. The leaves are glossy, strap-shaped, dark green. The bulb is fleshy, rounded and slightly elongated. It measures up to 10 cm in diameter. It produces one or two flower stalks. The height of the plant is 45-50 cm. The flowering period is winter (6-10 weeks after planting). Order yourself a gorgeous bouquet! Agree, it is very interesting to watch the iridescent blossoms light up on a cold day.

P.S. Hippeastrum was first wrongly identified as Amaryllis Equestris by botanist Linnaeus. Linnaeus' error is the cause of worldwide confusion between 'Amaryllis' and 'Hippeastrum'.

Guide and tips for planting amaryllis (Hippeastrum) bulbs

Choose a pot that is at least 4 cm wider than the bulb and has drainage holes in the bottom.
Fill the pot with well-draining soil, leaving about 2 cm of space at the top.
Place the bulb in the centre of the pot, with the pointed end facing up.
Cover the bulb with soil, leaving the top one-third of the bulb exposed.
Water once until the soil is evenly moist, then keep it only slightly moist until the first shoot appears.
Place the pot in a warm, bright location with indirect sunlight.
As the plant grows, support the stalk with a stake if needed.
