Amaryllis (Hippeastrum) Love Heart is one of the most romantic varieties of amaryllis, embodying tenderness and strength of feelings in floral form. Its luxurious, large flowers, up to 18–20 cm in diameter, bloom in the shape of slightly rounded hearts, which is symbolically reflected in the name of the variety. The deep red color of the petals shimmers with purple hues, and in the center, a soft glow can be seen — like the light of feelings breaking through the depths of emotions. The petals have a dense, velvety texture with delicate wavy edges, which adds even more decorative appeal to the plant.

This variety blooms in winter and spring — the darkest and coldest time of the year, when we crave warmth and beauty. The bulbs are planted in pots; the plant prefers a bright location without direct sunlight and moderate watering.

Guide and tips for planting amaryllis (Hippeastrum) bulbs

Choose a pot that is at least 4 cm wider than the bulb and has drainage holes in the bottom.
Fill the pot with well-draining soil, leaving about 2 cm of space at the top.
Place the bulb in the centre of the pot, with the pointed end facing up.
Cover the bulb with soil, leaving the top one-third of the bulb exposed.
Water once until the soil is evenly moist, then keep it only slightly moist until the first shoot appears.
Place the pot in a warm, bright location with indirect sunlight.
As the plant grows, support the stalk with a stake if needed.
