About Amaryllis Scarlett Belle Flowers

Hippeastrum, or amaryllis, is a flowering bulbous plant planted in closed ground. The Scarlet Belle variety resembles brightly shining stars that woke up in early spring.

Appearance and aroma

The opal-red flowers of the plant consist of 6 petals with an elongated edge and stamens of the same rich color that extend beyond the borders of the bud. The variety has a delicate smell with a sweet base. One peduncle opens about 6 buds located at the very top. The leaves of the variety are thin, elongated, located only at the bottom.

Guide and tips for planting amaryllis (Hippeastrum) bulbs

Choose a pot that is at least 4 cm wider than the bulb and has drainage holes in the bottom.
Fill the pot with well-draining soil, leaving about 2 cm of space at the top.
Place the bulb in the centre of the pot, with the pointed end facing up.
Cover the bulb with soil, leaving the top one-third of the bulb exposed.
Water once until the soil is evenly moist, then keep it only slightly moist until the first shoot appears.
Place the pot in a warm, bright location with indirect sunlight.
As the plant grows, support the stalk with a stake if needed.
