Amaryllis (Hippeastrum) „King Star“ (Serenity) je prekvapivá rozmanitosť Amaryllis, oslavovaných pre jeho žiarivé, broskyňové kvety s jemnými bielymi akcentmi. Veľké kvety v tvare trúbky sú vybavené hladkými hodvábnymi okvetnými lístkami, ktoré prechádzajú z teplej oranžovej na mäkkú broskyňu, s jemným bielym žilkou blízko okrajov, čím vytvárajú žiarivé a živé zobrazenie. Zelené hrdlo každého kvetu dodáva nádych čerstvosti, vylepšuje jeho elegantný, ale odvážny vzhľad - dokonalé na rozjasnenie vnútorných priestorov alebo na zimné aranžmány rozstrekovanie farieb.

„King Star“, ktorá rastie do výšky 50–60 cm (20–24 palcov), produkuje robustné stonky, ktoré nesú pôsobivé kvety 2–4, z ktorých každá má priemer 18–22 cm. Kvety, doplnené lesklými zelenými listami podobnými popruhom, sú ideálne pre hrnce, nádoby alebo ako ohromujúci doplnok k kvetinovým kyticiam. „King Star“ sa darí jasným, nepriamym svetlom a je vytrvalý v zónach USDA 8–11, vďaka čomu je vhodný na pestovanie v interiéri aj na výsadbu vonku v teplejších klimatických podmienkach.

Guide and tips for planting amaryllis (Hippeastrum) bulbs

  • Choose a pot that is at least 4 cm wider than the bulb and has drainage holes in the bottom.
  • Fill the pot with well-draining soil, leaving about 2 cm of space at the top.
  • Place the bulb in the centre of the pot, with the pointed end facing up.
  • Cover the bulb with soil, leaving the top one-third of the bulb exposed.
  • Water once until the soil is evenly moist, then keep it only slightly moist until the first shoot appears.
  • Place the pot in a warm, bright location with indirect sunlight.
  • As the plant grows, support the stalk with a stake if needed.
