Amaryllis (Hippeastrum) „King Star“ (Serenity) je výrazná rozmanitost Amaryllis, oslavovaných svými živými, broskvový oranžový květ s jemnými bílými akcenty. Velké květy ve tvaru trumpety mají hladké hedvábné okvětní lístky, které přecházejí z teplé oranžové na měkkou broskev, s jemnou bílou žilku poblíž okrajů a vytvářejí zářivý a živý displej. Zelený krk každého květu přidává nádech svěžesti a zvyšuje jeho elegantní, ale odvážný vzhled - perfektní pro rozjasnění vnitřních prostorů nebo přináší do zimních uspořádání stříkající barvu.

„King Star“, která roste do výšky 50–60 cm (20–24 palců), produkuje robustní stonky, které nesou 2–4 působivé květiny, z nichž každá měří průměr 18–22 cm. Květy, doplněné lesklými, zelenými listy podobnými popruhu, jsou ideální pro květináče, kontejnery nebo jako ohromující doplněk květinových kytic. „King Star“ se daří v jasném, nepřímém světle a je odolný v zónách USDA 8–11, takže je vhodný jak pro kultivaci vnitřní, tak pro venkovní výsadbu v teplejším podnebí.

Jak zasadit?

Guide and tips for planting amaryllis (Hippeastrum) bulbs

  • Choose a pot that is at least 4 cm wider than the bulb and has drainage holes in the bottom.
  • Fill the pot with well-draining soil, leaving about 2 cm of space at the top.
  • Place the bulb in the centre of the pot, with the pointed end facing up.
  • Cover the bulb with soil, leaving the top one-third of the bulb exposed.
  • Water once until the soil is evenly moist, then keep it only slightly moist until the first shoot appears.
  • Place the pot in a warm, bright location with indirect sunlight.
  • As the plant grows, support the stalk with a stake if needed.
  • After the flowers have faded, cut the stem off at the base and keep the leaves growing. See our Planting and Care guide for reblooming.
