Amaryllis (Hippeastrum) Double Dream is a large-flowering, luxuriantly blooming bulbous plant. Hippeastrum originates from South America. The leaves are long and strap-shaped. The flowers are very large and full, with a pleasant fragrance, and sit on tall, sturdy stems. When the flowers fully open, the petals curl beautifully and the shape of the flower changes. Large bulbs can produce 4 to 6 flowers, in deep pink with fine longitudinal veining.

The shape is peony-like, resembling a lush ball, with a flower diameter of 16–19 cm. The petals of the first rows have slight blond spots towards the tips. The flower stems vary in height from 40 to 60 cm.

The outside of the flower has light green petals with greenish central stripes. Each flower has around 20 to 30 petals, arranged in 4 to 5 rows. Some flowers even have two centres. The flower stem, pedicels and ovaries are green.
