Privacy Policy

This privacy policy explains which personal data Amarylia collects when you visit www.amarylia.com, place an order or subscribe to our emails, why we use it and what your rights are. We process personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Last updated: October 2026.

Who is responsible for your data

Amarylia is a brand of Dutch-Bulbs B.V., Carolus Clusiuslaan 3D, 2215 RV Voorhout, the Netherlands (Chamber of Commerce no. 93915667). Dutch-Bulbs B.V. is the controller of your personal data. For any privacy question, email support@amarylia.com.

What data we collect

  • Order data: name, billing and delivery address, email address, phone number, the products you order and payment status. We do not see or store your full card or bank details; payments are handled by our payment providers.
  • Account data: if you create an account, your login details and order history.
  • Communication: the content of emails, contact forms and messages you send us.
  • Newsletter: your email address and your subscription preferences.
  • Device and usage data: IP address, browser, device type, pages viewed and how you use our website, collected through cookies and similar technologies.

Why we use your data and on what legal basis

  • To process and deliver your order, send order and shipping updates, and handle returns and guarantee claims — performance of a contract.
  • To answer your questions and provide customer service — performance of a contract, or our legitimate interest in helping you.
  • To keep accounting records and meet legal obligations, such as tax rules — legal obligation.
  • To prevent fraud and keep our shop secure — legitimate interest.
  • To measure and improve our website and show relevant advertising, for example on Google, Facebook and Instagram — your consent via the cookie banner, which you can withdraw at any time.
  • To send newsletters — your consent, or our legitimate interest if you are already a customer and have not objected. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • To invite you to review your order on Trustpilot — legitimate interest. You can ignore or decline the invitation.

Who we share your data with

We only share your data with parties that help us run our shop, and only as much as they need:

  • Shopify, which hosts our online store and checkout (Shopify privacy policy);
  • payment providers, such as Shopify Payments, PayPal and Klarna, which process your payment;
  • parcel carriers (DPD, UPS or PostNL), which receive your name, address and contact details to deliver your order;
  • Google (Analytics and Ads) and Meta (Facebook and Instagram), for statistics and advertising, only with your consent (Google privacy policy);
  • Trustpilot, which sends review invitations on our behalf;
  • our email service provider, to send newsletters;
  • authorities, if we are legally required to share data.

We do not sell your personal data.

Data outside the European Union

Some service providers, such as Shopify, Google and Meta, may process data outside the European Economic Area. In that case we rely on the safeguards required by the GDPR, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep your data

  • Order and invoice data: 7 years, as required by Dutch tax law.
  • Account data: as long as your account is active, or until you ask us to delete it.
  • Customer service messages: up to 2 years after your last contact.
  • Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe.
  • Analytics data: according to the retention settings of the analytics tool, up to 26 months.

Cookies and your choices

Functional cookies are needed for the shop and checkout to work and do not require consent. Analytics and marketing cookies are only placed if you accept them in our cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time on our Your Privacy Choices page or in your browser settings.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw your consent at any time. To use these rights, email support@amarylia.com. We respond within one month.

If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) or with the data protection authority in your own country.

Security

Our website and checkout use encrypted connections (HTTPS), and we take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss and unauthorised access. Within our company, only the people who need customer data for their work have access to it.

Links to other websites

Our website and emails may link to other websites, such as Trustpilot or Instagram. Their own privacy policies apply there.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our services or the law change. The version published on this page applies.
