Amaryllis (Hippeastrum) 'Bogota' is a striking cybister amaryllis renowned for its exotic, spider-like flowers featuring slender, gracefully arching petals in deep red with coral and white accents, creating a dramatic and elegant display. The star-shaped blooms, measuring up to 12–15 cm (5–6 inches) in diameter, are adorned with delicate veining and a soft green throat, evoking a tropical allure perfect for adding flair to indoor spaces or winter decor. This Spider Group variety’s unique form and vibrant colors make it a standout centerpiece.
The plant grows to a height of 45–60 cm (18–24 inches) and produces sturdy peduncles bearing 3–5 flowers. Its vibrant blooms, set against glossy, strap-like green foliage, are ideal for pots, containers, or as exquisite cut flowers in sophisticated arrangements. 'Bogota' thrives in bright, indirect light and is hardy in USDA zones 8–11, making it suitable for indoor cultivation or outdoor planting in warm climates.

Guide and tips for planting amaryllis(hippeastrum) bulbs
- Choose a pot that is at least 4 cm wider than the bulb and has drainage holes in the bottom.
- Fill the pot with well-draining soil, leaving about 2 cm of space at the top.
- Place the bulb in the center of the pot, with the pointed end facing up.
- Cover the bulb with soil, leaving the top one-third of the bulb exposed.
- Water the soil until it is evenly moist, but not waterlogged.
- Place the pot in a warm, bright location with indirect sunlight.
- Water the plant only when the top inch of soil is dry to the touch.
- As the plant grows, support the stalk with a stake to prevent it from bending or breaking.
- After the flowers have faded, cut the stem off at the base and continue to care for the plant by watering it regularly and providing it with bright, indirect sunlight.
