A beautiful, dark, splendidly flowering, perennial bulbous variety. Native to Africa. The flowers are very large and scented and grow in fairly tall, thickened flower stems. The bulbs are large and can have one to three flower arrows. Each of the arrows contains between 4 and 5 exquisite, velvety, dark red flowers with a cherry-red tinge. The throat is dark red in colour. The flower diameter averages 16 to 20 cm.
The flower stalk is about 50 cm tall. The bud length is approximately 10 cm. The flower shape is flat, neat and flattened. It is rounded-oval at the beginning of flowering. When the flowers fully open, the petals curl up beautifully and the shape of the flower changes. It becomes triangular-oval.
The outer petals are slightly wider than the inner ones, and there may be horn-like projections at the base. The petals are oval-round, slightly pointed towards the end. Pistil and stamens filiform, dark red, not very long, curved, stigma white. The pedicels are about 5 cm long and have a slight crimson tinge. The leaves of this variety are strap-shaped, not broad. Bulbs up to 10 cm in diameter.

Guide and tips for planting amaryllis(hippeastrum) bulbs
- Choose a pot that is at least 4 cm wider than the bulb and has drainage holes in the bottom.
- Fill the pot with well-draining soil, leaving about 2 cm of space at the top.
- Place the bulb in the center of the pot, with the pointed end facing up.
- Cover the bulb with soil, leaving the top one-third of the bulb exposed.
- Water the soil until it is evenly moist, but not waterlogged.
- Place the pot in a warm, bright location with indirect sunlight.
- Water the plant only when the top inch of soil is dry to the touch.
- As the plant grows, support the stalk with a stake to prevent it from bending or breaking.
- After the flowers have faded, cut the stem off at the base and continue to care for the plant by watering it regularly and providing it with bright, indirect sunlight.
