Amaryllis (Hippeastrum) Exotic Peacock is a splendid, large-flowered, beautifully blooming, perennial bulbous plant. The plant originates from Africa. The leaves of this flower are linear-tongue-shaped. The flowers are very large with an excellent fragrance and sit on fairly tall, thickened flower arrows. When the flowers open fully, the petals curl up beautifully and the shape of the flower changes.
Large bulbs can produce one to three flower arrows. Each of these arrows has 4 to 6 upward pointing flowers. The colouring is beautiful, bright red with white. The flower is large, about 20 cm in diameter. The flower stalk of this flower is 35 to 55 cm tall. There is a broad white stripe running down the centre of the petal. The usual stamens and stigmae are absent.
The throat is light green. Each flower has a very large number of petals. They are arranged in several rows. It is an exceptionally vigorous hybrid. Bulbs 9 to 10.5 cm in diameter produce two flower stalks, up to 12 cm three flower stalks. The mature, dark green leaves can already be in bloom. On average it will take around two months from planting to flowering. This plant is ideal for cuttings.

Guide and tips for planting amaryllis(hippeastrum) bulbs
- Choose a pot that is at least 4 cm wider than the bulb and has drainage holes in the bottom.
- Fill the pot with well-draining soil, leaving about 2 cm of space at the top.
- Place the bulb in the center of the pot, with the pointed end facing up.
- Cover the bulb with soil, leaving the top one-third of the bulb exposed.
- Water the soil until it is evenly moist, but not waterlogged.
- Place the pot in a warm, bright location with indirect sunlight.
- Water the plant only when the top inch of soil is dry to the touch.
- As the plant grows, support the stalk with a stake to prevent it from bending or breaking.
- After the flowers have faded, cut the stem off at the base and continue to care for the plant by watering it regularly and providing it with bright, indirect sunlight.
