Amaryllis (Hippeastrum) 'Bright Spark' is a lively single-flowered variety that shines with its vibrant red coloring and compact charm. The star-shaped flowers feature bold scarlet petals highlighted with crisp white brushstrokes and a vivid green throat at the center, giving each bloom a fresh, energetic look. With its smaller flower size and bright contrasts, 'Bright Spark' is perfect for cheerful winter displays or as a playful accent in indoor arrangements.

This variety grows to a height of 35–45 cm (14–18 inches) and produces sturdy stems carrying 3–5 small flowers, each measuring 10–13 cm in diameter. Its vivid blossoms, paired with glossy strap-like green foliage, make 'Bright Spark' an excellent choice for pots, containers, or as a decorative gift plant. How to Plant?

Guide and tips for planting amaryllis (Hippeastrum) bulbs

  • Choose a pot that is at least 4 cm wider than the bulb and has drainage holes in the bottom.
  • Fill the pot with well-draining soil, leaving about 2 cm of space at the top.
  • Place the bulb in the centre of the pot, with the pointed end facing up.
  • Cover the bulb with soil, leaving the top one-third of the bulb exposed.
  • Water once until the soil is evenly moist, then keep it only slightly moist until the first shoot appears.
  • Place the pot in a warm, bright location with indirect sunlight.
  • As the plant grows, support the stalk with a stake if needed.
