🎄 Christmas flowers: plant amaryllis bulbs by 15 November.

Amaryllis (Hippeastrum) Princess Madeleine is an elegant variety of amaryllis that impresses with the tenderness of its flowers. Large, wide petals have a delicate appearance, creating a truly romantic atmosphere, which is why this variety received its royal name.

Princess Madeleine is ideal for growing at home in pots. It looks great both on its own and in combination with other amaryllis. The plant is easy to care for, undemanding, and quickly adapts to indoor conditions. Its long flowering period transforms any interior into a real flower salon.

How to Plant?

Guide and tips for planting amaryllis (Hippeastrum) bulbs

  • Choose a pot that is at least 4 cm wider than the bulb and has drainage holes in the bottom.
  • Fill the pot with well-draining soil, leaving about 2 cm of space at the top.
  • Place the bulb in the centre of the pot, with the pointed end facing up.
  • Cover the bulb with soil, leaving the top one-third of the bulb exposed.
  • Water once until the soil is evenly moist, then keep it only slightly moist until the first shoot appears.
  • Place the pot in a warm, bright location with indirect sunlight.
  • As the plant grows, support the stalk with a stake if needed.
  • After the flowers have faded, cut the stem off at the base and keep the leaves growing. See our Planting and Care guide for reblooming.
