The terry bright red amaryllis of the Red Torro variety attracts flower growers with its spectacular funnel-shaped buds and juicy green leaves.With good care, you can get two waves of flowering. To do this, the bulb is examined before planting, and a small but deep enough pot with a drainage layer at the bottom of 5-7 cm is selected for it.

The bulb of the variety is planted in well-drained soil, burying it only halfway, the distance to the edges of the flowerpot should be no more than 2 cm on each side. In this case, the amaryllis has every chance of blooming. In the off-season, watering is moderate, and the temperature of the content is kept low, up to +15 degrees. When the flower arrow appears, more generous watering and feeding is carried out, and the plant is slightly stimulated with heat up to +23 degrees.

How to Plant?

Guide and tips for planting amaryllis(hippeastrum) bulbs

Choose a pot that is at least 4 cm wider than the bulb and has drainage holes in the bottom.
Fill the pot with well-draining soil, leaving about 2 cm of space at the top.
Place the bulb in the center of the pot, with the pointed end facing up.
Cover the bulb with soil, leaving the top one-third of the bulb exposed.
Water the soil until it is evenly moist, but not waterlogged.
Place the pot in a warm, bright location with indirect sunlight.
Water the plant only when the top inch of soil is dry to the touch.
As the plant grows, support the stalk with a stake to prevent it from bending or breaking.
After the flowers have faded, cut the stem off at the base and continue to care for the plant by watering it regularly and providing it with bright, indirect sunlight.
